SiTE:LAB is excited to present Transformer Station, a Featured Public Project during ArtPrize 2022. Transformer Station is an accessible architectural structure and performance space by artist Paul Amenta and architect Ted Lott, in collaboration with Not Design, that will be sited in three unique locations in downtown Grand Rapids.
Transformer Station is an armature facilitating dynamic programming and community engagement—functioning as a stage for art events, a platform for local and national artists, and a social gathering space for the community. Not Design will operate a pop-up letterpress studio within the structure, producing live responsive content during performances that will be displayed on the structure.
